From the time I was a young boy, model cars lined my shelves like trophies. I’d spend hours rearranging them, imagining tweaks to their bodies, dreaming about how I could one day design my own parts. My favorite pastime wasn’t just collecting — it was imagining new possibilities. I always knew that one day, I would want to design automotive bodies and somehow bring them to life. That childhood dream has evolved into something real — something powerful — and that is MR129.

MR129: A Passion Project Turned Purpose

MR129 was born out of a passion for the Mercedes-Benz R129 SL platform, a car that, in my opinion, never truly got the aftermarket attention it deserves. The R129 SL — produced between 1989 and 2001 — is one of the most iconic grand tourers ever made. From the early 300SL and 500SL models to the legendary SL600 V12 and the ultra-rare AMG 6.0s, this platform carries deep heritage, timeless design, and immense tuning potential.

And yet, despite its rich legacy, there’s been a major gap in the aftermarket space — especially when it comes to aero parts and accessories tailored specifically for the R129 chassis. That’s where MR129 comes in.
