The facelift R129 (1996–2002) is a refined evolution of the legendary Mercedes-Benz SL — sleeker bumpers, updated lights, and subtle design enhancements that gave the car a more modern look while keeping its unmistakable road presence. But one thing has always been missing: a proper rear lip to complete the rear bumper.

That’s why I created the MR129 FL-Type B Rear Lip — a clean, aggressive, yet subtle addition designed specifically for the facelift R129 rear bumper, now available as a 3D printable digital STL file.

Factory Fitment Meets Custom Flare

The FL-Type B Rear Lip isn’t a loud, overstated piece — it’s designed to follow the OEM bumper’s lower contour with a subtle extension that improves visual balance and adds road-hugging attitude to the rear end of your SL.

It looks like something AMG should have offered back in the day — but never did. It’s perfect for anyone looking to achieve a clean OEM+ or Euro tuner-style finish without going full widebody or over-the-top.

This is one of those mods where people can’t quite figure out what changed — they just know it looks better.

Built for the 1996–2002 Rear Bumper

This rear lip was digitally modeled using CAD software and measured specifically to fit:

  • All facelift R129s (1996–2002)
  • Including SL320, SL500, SL600, and AMG Sport models
  • Fits both standard and Sport Package rear bumpers for facelift models

⚠️ Note: This rear lip is not compatible with pre-facelift bumpers (1989–1995) — we’re working on those versions separately.
